Why wait for the Euro, if we can make our own local currency and exchange system ? And help revitalise and (re)build community through it ? LETS (Local Exchange Trade Systems) exist in many countries and in many forms and don't need many resources to be created. They allow a cross-section of the community — individuals and consumer groups, small enterprises, local producers, even local governments — to exchange goods and services and cooperate with each other, as well as extend their purchasing power. One goal of this approach is to stimulate the economies of depressed towns by giving value and recognition to existing competences and to social innovation, while building mutual and solidarity economy networks. We will discuss about existing working examples and simulate a LETS system with a game.   Youth house
